The 100th Grey Cup Festival Announces the Nissan Family Zone as THE Place for Kids and Adults Alike!

Yonge-Dundas Square will be bustling with FREE family-friendly activities.
TORONTO, Ontario – For the budding football fan or those looking for something exciting and interactive to do with the kids, the Nissan Family Zone is the place to be during the 100th Grey Cup Festival! From Saturday, November 17 – Saturday, November 24, Yonge-Dundas Square will be transformed into a ‘fun zone’, packed with entertainment for the entire family, all of it free to the public! Educational programming, a mini football field with clinics led by CIS players, special performances on the Petro Canada Stage, games, giveaways for the kids, dancers and cheerleaders, great food and so much more will be the focal points of this location.
Opening weekend kicks off with programming for the kids to stay active and engaged while the parents can watch them learn to kick, throw and catch a football like a future CFL star. The Nissan Family Zone House Band will be in full swing on the Petro Canada Stage, all completely free! Visitors can please their taste buds with delicious foods from Smoke’s Poutinerie, Marc Angelo and stations from Urban Eatery, courtesy of the Toronto Eaton Centre.
On Monday, November 19, the Nissan Family Zone will be transformed into ‘The Art of the Game’. Students across GTA will be engaged with four unique workshops designed to educate and spark creativity through Canada’s largest sporting event.
Tuesday, November 20 will bring busloads of school trips to 100th Grey Cup Festival for Bullying Prevention Day. The largest Bullying Prevention Rally in Toronto will take place, where students from across the GTA will join together to demonstrate their commitment to stop bullying in their schools. Special guests include four-time Grey Cup champion Michael “Pinball” Clemons, Family Channel’s Lindsay Hamilton, MTV Canada’s Aliya Jasmine and MuchMusic’s T-RexXx.
Show off your best dance moves and get your vocal chords ready for Cheer/Dance Day on Wednesday, November 21! Leah Miller of E! Canada and ‘So You Think You Can Dance Canada’ hosts this high-energy day filled with performances from amazing dance troupes and cheer teams.
From Thursday, November 22 – Saturday, November 24, the Nissan Family Zone will feature many concerts including Toronto favourites The Shuffle Demons and Celtic stars The Mudmen. The National Reserve Navy Seals Marching Band will perform and a special Cheer Nation Flash Mob made up of cheerleaders from across the CFL takes over the Zone on Friday, November 23.
