All Canadian Line-Up to Rock the 100th Grey Cup Festival!

10/4/2022

METRO TORONTO CONVENTION CENTRE WILL HOST GREAT CANADIAN TALENT NOVEMBER 22 - 25!

TORONTO, OntarioIn the first of several musical announcements, the 100th Grey Cup Festival is thrilled to present an all Canadian line-up featuring some of the best musical acts in the country.  The multi-act bills will perform in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and feature headliners such as internationally acclaimed K’naan, and Canadian chart-toppers Sam Roberts Band , Matthew Good and Big Sugar, culminating with Canadian music royalty, Burton Cummings!  The invitation to rock our nation will span four nights beginning Thursday, November 22 through to Sunday, November 25.

Kicking things off on Thursday, November 22, the TELUS Players Party, presented by FLOW 93-5, is a who’s who of Canadian hip-hop and dance recording artists.  Headlining the bill is multiple Juno Award winner K’naan, best known for his single “Waving Flag” which rose to massive international success and went triple Platinum in Canada.  Joining him is fellow Juno Award winner and Canada’s hip-hop ambassador Kardinal Offishall aka Mr. International. With Platinum sales in Canada and multiple Juno award nominations, Kreesha Turner brings her blend of R&B and pop to the night, and if that wasn’t enough, Mia Martina, with her huge hit “Stereo Love” will have the crowd dancing.

Friday, November 23 marks the start of the Molson Canadian House Concert Series, set to tear up the house with some of Canada’s biggest and brightest rock stars.  Sam Roberts Band and alt-rocker Matthew Good will intensify an electric night of rock and roll as only they know how.  With 12 albums between them, fans will have no problem singing along to their favourites. Reunited pop punk sensation Treble Charger joins the bill, rounding out this night of incredible Canadian rock talent.  Having only played a handful of shows since their reunion, the 100th Grey Cup Festival is THE place for fans to experience these Platinum-selling rockers live once again.

Saturday, November 24 the party stays in high gear with multiplatinum recording artists Big Sugar. Playing their unique blend of rock, funk and reggae, Big Sugar “Turn the Lights On” as they take the stage with reggae legend Willi Williams. To start the night it is a classic rock fan’s dream come true; with over 40 years of hits to their name, Canadian Music Hall of Famers Myles Goodwyn and April Wine joins this incredible bill of rock artists to lend some classic star power. Entrenched in Canadian music history, Myles Goodwyn and April Wine have been inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame, the East Coast Music Hall of Fame, received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Canadian Music Week in 2009 and inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2010.  Rounding out this not-to-be-missed night of classic Canadian tunes is Canadian Rock ICON Kim Mitchell.  With classics like “Patio Lanterns” and “Go for Soda”, one Mitchell song sums the Molson Canadian House Concert Series up perfectly - “I Am A Wild Party”!

The Nissan Official 100th Grey Cup Pre-Game Party concert will work fans into a frenzy before the big game!  Hot off her performance earlier this year on ‘Late Show With David Letterman’, Kathleen Edwards will ramp things up with her unique brand of alt-country that is indescribably infectious.  Closing out Canada’s biggest party is music legend Burton Cummings, and Grey Cup fans will be in for the show of a lifetime!  Playing hits from his days as front man for The Guess Who, as well as his hugely successful solo career, Burton has been named an officer of the Order of Canada, has penned a book of poetry under the name of The Writings of B.L. Cummings, and received his star on Canada’s Walk of Fame in 2011. This exclusive VIP party will be the place to be before the classic game as Michael “Pinball” Clemons will deliver a pre-game rallying speech as only he can, leading into the biggest moment in Canadian sport of the century.

Tickets for the concert series will be available to the public on Friday, October 5 at 11:00 AM ET via Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.ca/100thgreycup
